A distinctive and elegant 3 string Nevada turquoise, jet and sterling silver bead necklace, designed and hand made by IACA award winning Kewa Pueblo artist Lorraine Cate. The necklace strings consist of naturally shaped mid-green Nevada turquoise chunks, in segments of 4 or 5, separated with black jet beads and petite sterling silver beads. The Nevada turquoise stones are fairly uniform in size, of random natural shapes. The colour palette is generally in a consistent mid-green range, with some lighter green and blue-green variations. Most have nice matrix shades of gold and dark brown. The gorgeous black jet and sterling silver beads are of uniform colour and size. The jet beads are reminiscent of plump black olives. This gorgeous necklace design, at just over 300 beads, achieves a stunning colour contrast and lively sparkle, as well as a pleasing texture. The rustic, traditional look is unmistakeably American Indian. As a finishing touch the necklace has 2 sterling silver cones as part of the clasp and is punctuated with Lorraine's signature solitaire blue turquoise heishi bead. The piece is comfortable, sits well and would not be out of place as part of a casual or formal look.
