An unusual contemporary triangular section sterling silver cuff bracelet, richly decorated and accented with 14kt gold and charoite. The piece is conceived and hand crafted by renowned Navajo artist Ron Henry. Geometric pattern interactions are a particular Ron Henry signature and this piece is a wonderful example. The bracelet body is of a heavyweight triangular section, gradually diminishing towards the ends, which are beautifully flat, rounded and flared. A series of cuts have been made into the body to form geometric symbols, mainly triangular. These combine with the mirror finish to create very pleasing light effects. On one side of the body is an inlaid 14kt gold triangle, the apex of which points to the charoite stone. The large elevated bezel is mounted on a curved round wire shank. At the heart of the design is a beautifully worked triangular shaped and faceted stone of charoite. The palette ranges from violet to pale lavender and the stone is heavily flecked with characteristic white crystalline needles. This stunning example of contemporary American Indian jewellery showcases some of the quirky, even edgy qualities that make Ron Henry creations such a pleasure to own.
